Begin your holiday cele ations with the annual Solomons Christmas Walk on Friday and Saturday, December 2 - 3, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. In addition to all of the attractions on the island, from the Garden in Lights to the lighted boat parade, the museum is serving up its own smorgasbord of holiday delights for visitors of all ages.
Shop locally in the Museum Store for everyone on your holiday list. Museum members receive 20% off all weekend. The Store will be open both nights and is stocked with Chesapeake Bay inspired books, jewelry, home décor, clothing, and gifts.
On Friday evening, cele ate First Free Friday as the museum hosts a trio of local performers in the museum. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. is the Cosmic Flute Choir, taking the stage at 7:00 p.m. enjoy the sounds of Patuxent Voices, and closing the evening at 8:00 p.m. is Stephen Godfrey and Robert Pfeiffer.
On Saturday evening, the entertainment kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with The Good Stuff, followed at 7:00 p.m. by Southern Maryland Sound, and Patuxent Pearls will close the walk cele ations from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Santa will be on hand both nights to hear the children’s secret wishes and watch for the appearance by the museum’s otter. Kids may create a holiday craft to take home. Enjoy punch and cookies on Friday. On Saturday, Santa’s Coffee House will be open with complimentary coffee, hot cocoa, and holiday cookies.
