On Friday, May 28, 2021, Radcliffe Creek School will launch our first ever 25 miles in 25 days Virtual Run for Radcliffe. Like within the walls of our school, we are creating an innovative way to reach runners and expand our support base during the challenges presented with COVID-19.
What you might not realize is that the run is also the biggest source of funding for Radcliffe Creek School’s financial aid program. Every day, we see children whose lives are changing because of being at Radcliffe. Students who thought they weren’t good at anything are learning that they are smart, that they are capable, and that they can contribute to a community. These students are learning to love learning, and that’s a pretty amazing thing! Without financial assistance, for many of our families, a Radcliffe education isn’t a possibility.
In the last ten years, Radcliffe has received more than $70,000 in support from local companies. This speaks volumes about the community support of our school and its valuable mission in serving children with (and without) learning differences.
As one of our parents said, “I think anyone that donates to Radcliffe probably does not realize the impact they have. There is no way to explain the stress on the parent that comes from worrying about how you are going to find a way to pay for the education that may be the only way to help their struggling child. The individuals and businesses that make donations offer so much more than money. They offer these children a chance to forget they have learning differences by being surrounded by their peers rather than being separated into special education classrooms, praised for their many talents rather than focused on for their weaknesses and encouraged to achieve success rather than mediocrity.”
We look forward to having your organization participate in this year’s run. We will be in touch in the next few weeks to follow up regarding sponsorship interest or feel free to contact the school at 410-778-8150 or knistler@radcliffecreekschool.org.
