***TRAFFIC ALERT***
Lanes Closed for One Day, Wednesday, April 26, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Kent County/Queen Anne’s County Line Near Millington
Maryland 2023 - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close the southbound lanes of US 301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) at the Chester River Bridge near Millington on Wednesday, April 26, so that crews can safely install and calibrate bridge monitoring equipment.
All southbound lanes will be closed 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Detour signs will direct southbound motorists to exit at MD 291 west, then take MD 290 south to MD 544 east and back to US 301. The detour length is about eight miles. The work will not impact northbound US 301 traffic.
The State Highway Administration understands that lane closures and detours can be inconvenient, but the work is necessary to ensure a safe and reliable transportation system.
The State Highway Administration maintains safety in work zones for our crews as well as motorists. Drivers need to stay alert, stay focused, look for reduced speed limits as well as driving pattern changes, and slow down in construction zones. Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
