One of the bonuses of rounding up your little ones for the event is the opportunity to get a second wear out of their adorable Easter outfits. And let's face it: getting that second wear is a huge bonus. We can't tell you how many wore-once outfits we have in our closet. And we don't even have the growing-like-a-weed excuse.
So, while your little ones are dressed to the nines, what will you wear?
What? You didn't foresee the leap between the Eastern Tea and shopping? What can we say? These connections come naturally. For this particular occasion we looked for something nice, spring-like, yet comfortable. You willl likely get the sweetest photos from this event so you'll want to look good, but you'll also be indoors and out, and moving around, so you're outfit needs to be adaptable.
Here's a round-up of four dresses under $400, each perfect for the Easter Tea.
1. Cut out Back Lace Dress by DV by Dolce Vita.
This mango colored lace overlay dress is absolutely adorable. The peek-a-boo back might be a little much for chasing your child around on an Easter-egg hunt, but pair it a low wedge or strappy sandal, a navy blazer and a mint statement necklace to take it from drinks with the girls to tea with your toddler. Retails for $138. Available at South Moon Under.
2. Red Prints Charming Silk Charmeuse Boat Neck Dress by Hale Bob.
This slighty-stretchy, 96 percent silk print dress is stylish, comfortable, and perfect for spring. It's lightweight, the colors are cheerful, and it offers just enough coverage that your arms won't get goose bumps when you're frolicking around on the hunt for Easter eggs. Pair it with a pair of nude wedges, a stack of bangles, and a drop earrings to dress it up, or strappy sandals and a beautiful bib necklace to dial it down. Retail price: $332. Available at Diva.
3. Mint and Pink Zig Zag Dress by Glam.
We've made it perfectly clear that mint is going to be a big hit this season, but geometric prints—especially stripes and chevron—will also be fun to dress up. This number is a perfect example. Try is (as Beth here has) with dangly earrings and a acelet or two. Retail Price $68. Available at Lilac Bijoux, in Annapolis.
4. BB Dakota Delaine Dress.
If you've picked up your March issue of What's Up? magazine yet, you’ve probably seen this month’s fashion spread. In it, Emily Taylor models BB Dakota’s Delaine dress in navy stripes. This look was one of our favorites for spring, but to lighten it up even slightly more for an Easter tea, allow us to present the Delaine in pink and gold stripes. Ahhh, pastel meets metallic. Go ahead, swoon. With a cardigan or blazer, and perhaps a thin belt, it’s perfect for the occasion. Retail price: $85. Available at Dragonfly Boutique, in Cam idge.
