Annapolis, MD – What’s Up? Media honored Production Manager Nick Gullotti and Graphic Designer Lauren VanSickle with its 2018 MVP award. The award, presented annually, is given to two What’s Up? employees that excel in their position, demonstrate a willingness to help others and promote a positive work environment. All full-time employees who have been with the company for at least a year are eligible to receive the award. Winners were selected through peer nomination and were announced during a company brunch on January 4th.
Lauren VanSickle was born and raised in Charles County, Maryland. She attended Watkins College of Art in Nashville, Tennessee, where she received a BFA in graphic design with a concentration in web development in May 2017. VanSickle joined the What’s Up? team as a Graphic Designer in July 2017. “I have grown so much as a professional designer since I have started,” VanSickle says of her time at What’s Up? Media. “I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing company!”
“Lauren is the ultimate utility person,” reads one of VanSickle’s MVP nomination statements. “Whether it be designing a fantastic layout, handling social media tasks, stepping in occasionally to help with ads, or assisting with the setup of events, Lauren is always happy to go the extra mile.”
Nick Gullotti was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and has been a Maryland resident since age ten. Gullotti attended UMUC in Adelphi, Maryland, and graduated with a BS in criminal justice in 2013. He began his career working as a case manager in the behavioral health field. In August 2017, Gullotti was hired as What’s Up? Media’s Production Manager. “I wouldn’t be able to excel in my position if it wasn’t for everyone else,” says Gullotti. “Winning MVP for 2018 shows me I am valued and loved amongst my team. I hope to continue being a part of such a great team.”
“Nick is hard-working, detail oriented, and has a fabulous personality, which makes him not only great at his job but great with the clients,” said one MVP nomination statement. “Anytime you ask Nick for help, he is always willing to help with a smile and a positive attitude.”
Both MVP winners received an extra week of paid vacation at a time share location of their choice, and $500 towards the trip.
