Hospice of the Chesapeake's 20th Annual Golf Tournament

Hospice of the Chesapeake invites all area golfers to reserve their foursome now for the nonprofit’s 20th annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 28, at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course in Queenstown, Maryland. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The day includes a full breakfast by Main & Market; lunch at the turn by Buddy’s Grill with RaR craft beer, Pusser’s Painkillers, a Bourbon Bar, and hand-rolled Cigars from The Cigar Box; an awards banquet by Two Rivers Steak & Fish House; beverages on the course; range time; greens fees; golf cart; and goodie bag.

Anne Arundel County Literacy Council Book Fair

The Anne Arundel County Literacy Council (AACLC) will host its 3rd-annual fundraiser book fair outside Discoveries: The Library at the Mall at the Crate & Barrel Court in Annapolis Mall. The fair will feature 100s of gently used books, including children’s books, cookbooks, bestsellers, romance novels, memoirs, mysteries, thrillers, historical fiction, and much more. Books will be priced at $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. Shoppers can fill a special edition Literacy Council tote bag with books for $20. PayPal, Venmo, credit cards, checks, and cash will be accepted. Also at the book fair are gift basket raffles, a children's activity, and more. Proceeds from the book fair will support the Council’s free adult tutoring programs in Anne Arundel County.
