The Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge is a fundraising event in which individuals pledge $100.00 or more for the chance to plunge into the Chesapeake Bay in February in support of 4,340 Special Olympics athletes who train and compete year-round throughout Maryland. Plungers will have the option to Plunge virtually or in-person again this year.

Back by Popular Demand!!! This stirring drama with music is a classic tribute to the great American who freed herself and hundreds of people from the bonds of slavery. As Harriet and her friend Sarah Bradford narrate her life, students and teachers will share in the joys sorrows and challenges faced by this brave woman who changed the world through her courage. Your students will find a new appreciation for Harriet Tubman and a deeper understanding of her times. There will be a Q & A after the show.
The Great Maryland Recipe Hunt Round Up

Hammond-Harwood House Museum and the Maryland State Archives are co-hosting a project to collect and preserve Maryland’s diverse food traditions. Do you want to learn more about the Hunt and how you can participate? Join Food Historian and Recipe Hunt Chair, Joyce White, for a virtual presentation detailing the inspiration for the Hunt and ways you can contribute your favorite Maryland family recipes and/or culinary reminiscences. Several Recipe Hunt finds will be shared including some touching stories that illustrate food’s role in nourishing the body and the spirit.

The Reading Social is a monthly event that encourages reading for youth birth-12. They focus on improving literacy and building home libraries for children. The program is 2 hours, and during that time, children receive a healthy snack, reading support, and an art activity. Children have the option of reading or being read to. They encourage young readers to tell stories based on the pictures in the book. Each child gets to choose a book of their choice to take home to begin building their home library. Our Reading Socials are in Cambridge on 1st Saturdays and Hurlock on 2nd Saturdays.
Mother Son Valentines Day Ice Skate

Moms and sons are invited to enjoy an evening of ice skating, refreshments, ice games, fun music, door prizes, and photo opportunities at the 3rd Annual Mother Son Skate. Come dressed in party attire or casual wear for the perfect skating night! Pre-registration is required.
