But what I've also come to absolutely love about today's wedding planning process, is the idea that whatever I can dream up, I can acquire—and in many cases, I can acquire it on a budget. With the popularity of Pinterest, DIY ideas are everywhere, and with the rise of Etsy, everyone can wear custom made designs. If you can't find the dress—for you, your bridesmaids, or your flower girls—you can have it made. Have an idea for the perfect jewelry but can't find it in stores? Have it made.r
I had a vision for the perfect veil to complement my dress, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I scoured the web and when I finally found something that looked close to what I'd imagined, it was way out of my price range.

Enter Etsy. I looked through every Etsy veil shop I could until I found a store that featured a few veils made of the same material as the one I wanted, at my price point. Then, I messaged the designer/store owner and started a dialogue. I sent her a handful of photos, we chatted online and over the phone, and I sent her extra material from my mother's dress. We discussed my vision, specific materials, my budget, and troubleshooting—she'd never made a veil like the one I was requesting. She even sent me photos of the veil in progress to make sure we were on the same page.

This morning, I woke up to an email that my veil had been shipped, and I cannot wait to get it! I think it'll be so fun and special to wear my mother's dress, with a veil made just for me.
