Shore Shakespeare presents The Curate Shakespeare's As You Like It

Shore Shakespeare Company inaugurates the Second Show of its 2018 Season with the delightful comedy The Curate Shakespeare As You Like It by Don Nigro, directed by Earl Lewin.

The show will be presented (indoors!) at the Garfield Center for the Arts in Chestertown from Jan 11th thru Jan 20th, 2019. This sparkling comedy presents the trials and pitfalls of an itinerant band of down-and-out amateur thespians, led by a dotty cleric, in their attempt to present Shakespeare’s As You Like It. They often want to quit, endure countless humiliations, and make a near hash of the precious and holy words of the god Shakespeare. But they stumble, now and then, to their own considerable surprise, across moments of beauty and integrity. It’s a hilarious send-up of all things theatrical from one of the modern stage’s funniest playwrights, Don Nigro. The show is directed by noted Chestertown playwright and director Earl Lewin.
