Historic London Town and Gardens will be open on the 4th of July! During the day, we'll have special activities including a performance of Frederick Douglass' "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July" by Joel Cook at 11am. (Photo is of Joel Cook as Frederick Douglass by Victorian Photography Studio.)
Additionally, there will be the return of "Drinks with the Director" from 12:30 - 2pm. Rod Cofield, London Town's executive director, will play bartender, serving up punch and cider (cash bar) while sharing the important role of taverns in the 17th and 18th centuries. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of drinks and conversation on taverns, archaeology, and early America. Come when you can; leave when you must! Drinks include Hard Cider, the Lord Mayor's Punch (Rum, Brandy, Lemonade, Limeade, Sugar, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg), and the Little Lord Mayor's Punch (Lemonade, Limeade, Sugar, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg).
