Talent Machine Company Gala
to
Annapolis Marriott Waterfront 80 Compromise St., Annapolis, Maryland 21401
The Talent Machine Company, which has long been delighting Annapolis audiences with exceptional children’s theater, is holding its first-ever Gala on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel from 7 to 11 p.m. Originally planned to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Company’s beloved Holiday Show, the Gala will now also raise funds to help offset the impact that COVID had on this small nonprofit.
Dedicated to producing professional-quality performances by children and youth, the Company produces three shows each year and has involved hundreds of children and families since its founding. Last year, the Company performed several shows outdoors and offered a shortened Holiday Show online, but COVID severely limited ticket sales, the lifeblood of the Company. The Gala will help to ensure that the Talent Machine remains viable for future generations.
“The Talent Machine Company truly became like a new family for us,” says Lynette Muse Crook, whose two children, Matthew and Marissa, participated for seven years. “The Company gives kids a place to shine and discover their hidden talents. I recommend this Company to everyone, whether your kids want to be on stage, gain backstage or tech experience, or simply attend phenomenal shows. It’s a joy.”
While some alumni have ultimately appeared on Broadway and in national and international touring companies, choreographed professional productions, and become high school theater directors, others are now engineers, therapists, nurses, attorneys, and business leaders across the globe. Many will be returning to Annapolis on November 20 to support the Company and share fondest moments and special memories.
The November 20 Gala will feature wonderful food, an open bar, the friendly competition of an exciting silent auction, a special Talent Machine photo booth (with familiar holiday props), performances, and, importantly, the premiere of The Talent Machine Documentary with footage from the earliest shows and stories about the incomparable Company founder, the late Bobbi Smith.
