Hillman initially served as the hospital's first director of public relations and led marketing, communications and legislative affairs before assuming director of the Foundation in 1990. “Lisa has been a tremendous asset to the health system,” said Tori Bayless, AAMC's President and CEO. “She has not only led many successful fundraising campaigns but she has been generous in her commitment to support the people, programs, services, and facilities that make Anne Arundel Medical Center a nationally recognized and community-cherished hospital.”
Hillman served as chair of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, taught numerous classes and seminars and served on scores of expert panels. “She has been a coach and mentor to many in her field, and as a highly effective leader, she has built a very strong team of professionals within the Foundation,” adds Bayless.
“We have been extremely fortunate to have Lisa's leadership,” said JoAnn DeCesaris, AAMC Foundation board chair. “We could not be more appreciative of the critical role she has played in the development of the larger philanthropic community. Lisa has accomplished a great deal for the hospital and made a difference in the lives of others, strengthening our community."
Jan Wood is AAMC Foundation president starting July 1. Wood joined the Foundation in 2010 as director of major gifts. Before AAMC, Wood owned a marketing consulting firm in Annapolis that provided fundraising strategies, public relations, market analysis, and business development services to corporations and non-profit organizations across the United States.
In addition, Debbie Daugherty assumes the role of director of advancement. Daugherty, who joined the AAMC Foundation in April, will oversee donor efforts for the organization. Most recently, Daugherty worked as a philanthropic consultant, advising Annapolis-area non-profits in strategic fundraising, grant proposals and event planning. A resident of Annapolis, Daugherty also was the director of advancement for The Key School in Annapolis and grant development director for the Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) Foundation.
