Annapolis, MD (March 16, 2021) - Mayor Gavin Buckley reminds residents that Annapolis City government offices will be closed on Thursday, March 25, 2021 for Maryland Day.
Annapolis Transit will operate on a normal schedule. For more information on transit schedules, visit https://www.annapolis.gov/185/Bus-Routes-Schedules.
Please note that curbside recycling and refuse collection WILL NOT be affected. The Pip Moyer Recreation Center will operate on a regular schedule.
Maryland Day is observed on March 25 to mark the landing of 150 European settlers who arrived on two ships, “The Ark” and “The Dove.” They disembarked in 1634 at St. Clement’s Island in the Potomac River (in what is today St. Mary’s County). Marylanders began officially observing Maryland Day in 1903. In 1916, the day was designated a legal holiday.
