Last year’s book and calendar raised more than $9,000 for charities Second editions make great holiday gifts
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Following the success of her first cookbook and calendar, local photographer and author, Danielle Press, announces her second editions of both projects to help raise critically needed funds for struggling Annapolis restaurants and the Annapolis SPCA. Her first cookbook, “Dining Out in Annapolis While Eating In” raised nearly $8,000 for Feed Anne Arundel and her calendar, “Dogs of Annapolis” raised over $1,500 for the SPCA.
What started as a COVID pandemic idea to keep her focused on her photography skills, the projects feature two of her greatest joys - great meals and canines. The Edgewater resident decided to put her talents to work and contacted local restaurant owners to feature in her cookbook, and found subjects for her calendar by reaching out to the local community. Both projects rely on local businesses for printing and sponsorships, and all the dogs and shooting locations in the calendar are local to the Annapolis area.
“The success of the cookbook and calendar exceeded all of my expectations and I was thrilled to present those checks. I am a huge fan of the work of Monica Alvarado and the volunteers at Feed Anne Arundel, and believe wholeheartedly in the mission of the SPCA to prevent cruelty to animals. A second edition just made perfect sense to me and it has kept me very busy during these pandemic days. The second edition will have a few new restaurant recipes in it,” said Danielle.
More than 30 local restaurants contributed recipes to the first cookbook that features brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, and cocktail recipes.
Participating restaurants in the latest cookbook include WHO? Level: A Small Plates Lounge, Soul, Julep Southern Kitchen, Boatyard Bar and Grill, Vin 909, Annapolis Market House, Luna Blu, Stan and Joe’s, Black Wall Hitch, In Grano, Park Tavern, Caliente Grill, Preserve, Pussers, Broadneck Grille and more.
The cookbook is available for pre-sale for $37.50 through Naptown Food’s website - https://www.naptownfood.com/cookbook. Shipments will begin November 30. Some participating restaurants will also have books for sale onsite. Digital copies of the book will also be available.
