To continue bringing light to the Season of Giving, this week we recognize Bello Machre. Since 1972, Bello Machre has been nurturing, teaching, and caring for adults and children with developmental disabilities. They have helped thousands of people who have walked through the doors of their home in Glen Burnie. They were founded by a group of parents who wanted better lives for their sons and daughters than institutional living.
There are plenty of ways to volunteer to help including yard work at the community homes, decorating the homes for the holiday season, and more. Right now, the best way to help is to donate a Thanksgiving meal. Bello Machre hopes to provide over 50 Thanksgiving dinners to residential, support service, and meaningful day families.
Each basket should be filled to feed 6 individuals and dropped off to the main campus in Glen Burnie by Monday 11/23. Below are suggestions of food to fill the baskets. Another way to help is to reach out to Manager of Outreach and Volunteer Services Lindsey Norris at lindsey.norris@bellomachre.org to find out how else you can help.
