brHelp restore the Chesapeake's native oyster population by cleaning oyster shells (called "shell shaking") by shaking off the dirt and debris so baby oysters can successfully grow on them.br

brShell shaking is critical in our oyster restoration efforts. Without cleaning the oyster shells, we could potentially lose millions of healthy larvae as they attach to debris, rather than the shell, and are later washed out into the silt.br
brThis event is a bit of a workout, but a fun hands-on experience. With lifting involved, it is not recommended for individuals with a bad back or other health concerns. A tour of the restoration center will follow the shell shaking.
