Shortly before the parade kicks off, Cambridge’s Crab Basket Tree will be officially lighted. This tree is constructed of about 200 crab baskets - the very bushel baskets that our local watermen use to bring in blue crabs from the waters on their way to our plates.

Due to Maryland liquor licensing rules, they were no longer allowed to do that. The staff decided to turn a negative into a positive by allowing customers to “pay” for their tasting with a donation to a monthly local charity. Fishpaws then matches all customers’ donations.
