Captain Rowsom will explore the USS Constellation’s role as flagship of the US African Squadron from 1859 to 1861 including the history of the squadron, reasons for it coming into being, and its outcomes. He will also examine life aboard a Navy warship at that time through excerpts from the journal of Landsman William Leonard. The history of the ships named Constellation from the Baltimore-built frigate of 1797 to the aircraft carrier CV-64 will also be discussed.

There will also be a world championship muskrat skinning event! You can even taste muskrat prepared the traditional way.

Discover a story filled with friendship and imagination at The Little Prince. A young pilot crashes his plane in the Sahara Desert where he meets a child dressed as a prince insisting that he draw for him. The child tells the pilot that he comes from another planet, asteroid B-612, and he is on journey to understand his feelings of affection for an overbearing rose that bloomed on the star a year prior. The little prince recounts feats from an intergalactic adventure and tells of various characters each of whom face their own sort of selfishness. He teaches the pilot how to express his feelings and imagination beyond what is expected of an adult in the modern world.
Recycled Runway – Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Department

Join Chestertown RiverArts at the first annual Recycled Runway. This upscale fashion show will feature fabulous, one-of-a-kind creations designed by artists and groups of all ages using recycled or re-purposed materials. Each entry may include paper and plastic bags, candy wrappers, duct tape, aluminum cans, bottle caps, cardboard, or pieces of discarded clothing that will be transformed into high-class fashion. The evening will also feature a silent auction, heavy appetizers, and a cash bar. Chestertown RiverArts Recycled Runway benefits their educational programming for children and adults.

Accompanied by the hilarious Donkey, as well as beloved—and a little twisted—fairytale favorites like Pinocchio and Puss in Boots, Shrek sets out to save his swampy home from the annoying fairies that have invaded there. On the way, Shrek learns about love, loyalty, and how he can rely on his friends to get out of a pickle in a hurry.

BCGS 30th Anniversary Commission Awards Concert – UMBC Linehan Concert Hall, Baltimore

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society has commissioned four Baltimore area composers to write works for the classical guitar. The compositions are for two solo guitars, a guitar duo, and a guitar trio. The world-premieres will take place in an hour-long concert where the composers will be interviewed on-stage about the creation of the works right before the world-premieres.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society has commissioned four Baltimore area composers to write works for the classical guitar. The compositions are for two solo guitars, a guitar duo, and a guitar trio. The world-premieres will take place in an hour-long concert where the composers will be interviewed on-stage about the creation of the works right before the world-premieres.
