May 14, 2016 // Maria's Love Point Bed & Breakfast // Mike B Photography
The Couple
Jill and MJ met watching football at The Green Turtle. Jill was coming back from the Renaissance Fair and decided to stop by and catch the 5:00 game with some friends already at the bar. MJ ended up joining their table for the game and they became quick friends. “We even have a picture of that day from a friend who took a random table photograph,” Jill shares. “If I never stopped by we would have never met.”
The Proposal
One day MJ suggested they should head down to the Cape Saint Claire Beach for a little bit since it was getting colder and they might not get to go to the beach much more that year. “When we arrived at the beach, I saw tiki torches with something hanging in between them,” Jill remembers. “At first I was reluctant to walk down to them since I didn’t know if it was for something else going on.” Curiosity won, so they walked down to where everything was set up. “I saw that there are pictures hanging in between the tiki torches, and then I notice it’s us in a picture. It was us in all the pictures!” MJ had hung pictures in chronological order from the first time they had met. At the very end of the line of pictures there was an empty clip. MJ pointed the empty clip out and told Jill it was for all the memories he wanted to continue to make with her. “At this point, MJ got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
The Venue
Jill and MJ loved that the bed and eakfast was private and not a so-called wedding mill. “The exclusivity of Maria’s Love Point made our wedding more intimate, and the views were eathtaking. Ed and Maria were amazing and made our day even more special. We plan to go back on future anniversaries.”
The Theme
Tying the Knot. Between getting married on the water, living in Annapolis, and MJ being in the navy, the theme was easy for them to choose. Jill even gave her idesmaids gold sailor’s knot acelets as a gift.
The Rain Plan
The wedding ceremony was planned for 5:00. At 3:30 that afternoon the clouds darkened and a major spring storm came through unloading buckets of rain. The storm didn’t stop until 5:15, turning every ide’s worst fear into a reality for Jill and MJ. “Our caterer and vendors were amazing and we decided to hold off the wedding until the rain subsided.” Everything was pushed back to a 5:30 start and they moved the ceremony under their reception tent. They were able to still have their cocktail hour outside where guests played corn hole and gathered by the pool.
The Best Decision
Originally, Jill wasn’t planning on hiring a videographer. After hearing from several ides that recommended doing so, they chose to hire a videographer and feel like it was the best decision they made.
The Honeymoon
Jill and MJ went to Maui and Oahu for their honeymoon. They recommend waiting a few days to rejuvenate before jumping on a plane. They also recommend taking the trip of your dreams because you never know when you will be able to do it again.
