Live the good life easily with our quick list of fun & feel-good ways you can add immediate improvement to your life. Recite our mini-mantras & you’ll be on your way.
Friends = Fun
Surround yourself with people that make you happy. It’s one of the most basic steps to contentment. Making plans with friends, meeting new friends, or even reconnecting with old friends can significantly increase the ol’ happiness factor.
Good for Others is Good for You
We always hear people say “be someone that makes you happy.” What better way to fulfill that than to help out your fellow human beings? Take time to assist an elderly neighbor or pick up the piece of trash you would normally walk past. By helping others or helping the environment, you’ll help yourself.
Go Solo
While it’s important to have a social life (gotta get out there and make those memories!), it is equally as important to save some time for yourself. Take some time each day to relax; do morning yoga (sun salutations are always a favorite), get cozy on the couch with a good book and a glass of wine, or binge-watch a season of your favorite TV show on Netflix. Everyone has their guilty pleasures—em ace yours and treat yourself.
One Fish, Two Fish
Eating fish at least twice a week can do wonders for your health. The fatty acids in fish help to boost memory, and the protein keeps you full for longer—another way to limit those snacks!
Aquify Your Life
Drinking plenty of water is probably the easiest way to improve health. The human body is about 60 percent water—why not sustain it? Drinking lots of water is good for a number of reasons: it helps you concentrate (since the ain is mostly water), keeps you energized, cleans out your inner body systems, boosts the immune system and metabolism, and (most importantly) keeps you hydrated.
Darling D
Vitamin D is a huge part of our health—it contributes to healthy bones, ain, and heart, and helps us maintain a healthy weight. It’s easy to take vitamin D supplements, but the best source is actually sunlight itself. A fifteen minute walk in the sun each day provides the perfect amount of vitamin D for your body, and if it’s too cloudy, eat vitamin D rich foods like salmon and eggs.
Breathe Between Bites
When you eat quickly, the stomach doesn’t register all the food until afterwards (about the same time you feel your buttons start to burst!). Eating slowly gives your stomach more time to digest the food, and therefore gives you a better alert of when to stop—thus lightening up your portions.
