Passion and Film: "Voices of Light"

“The Passion of Joan of Arc” is one of the most amazing films ever created and Richard Einhorn’s “Voices of Light” (composed to accompany the film) heightens the drama and power even further. Filmed almost entirely in close-up, this combination of film and music is a must see! Not only is this piece one of the most requested works from the Live Arts audience, it is also a favorite of Artistic Director J. Ernest Green. This piece was scheduled to be performed just as the pandemic began and Live Arts has been waiting to share it with you ever since.

Rescheduled from April 2021, The Eastern Shore Sea Glass Festival is back and at a new location. The Eastern Shore Sea Glass Festival will feature more than 90 artisans featuring coastal and sea-glass related jewelry, home décor, art, and more. The two-day festival ticket includes entrance to the Eastern Shore Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival, live music, and all of the exhibitions and historic structures on the campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

The Talent Machine Company, which has long been delighting Annapolis audiences with exceptional children’s theater, is holding its first-ever Gala on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel from 7 to 11 p.m. Originally planned to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Company’s beloved Holiday Show, the Gala will now also raise funds to help offset the impact that COVID had on this small nonprofit. Dedicated to producing professional-quality performances by children and youth, the Company produces three shows each year and has involved hundreds of children and families since its founding. Last year, the Company performed several shows outdoors and offered a shortened Holiday Show online, but COVID severely limited ticket sales, the lifeblood of the Company. The Gala will help to ensure that the Talent Machine remains viable for future generations.

Lights on the Bay is back this season for another beautiful display of light up displays. Driving through “Lights on the Bay” at Sandy Point State Park has become a tradition for many families for the past decade. The Lights on the Bay display is a scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with more than 60 spectacular animated and stationary displays illuminating the roadway.
